  • Weather is nice and cool and
breezy, although it looks a tad humid out there. And now, off I go to
cram accumulated tons of coal into the firebox for three days in a row
    - again. Luckily our coal this week looks halfway decent.

*looks at calendar* Cheesh…it’s September already. Not that it wasn’t
expected – I mean, time does march on – but it’s hard to believe I’ve
been on the railroad for a year now. I’m aiming for many more to come.

God be with everyone who lies in the wake of Katrina’s ruin.

  • I didn’t realize you had been on this job since last *September* — I thought you only started with them in November.  Yes, it is hard to believe, isn’t it?  Hope your back is standing up to the pounding it’s taking with shoveling coal.

Also, how are gas prices affecting the tourist end of things?  Have you seen a huge drop-off in tourists?  What are gas prices like in your area?  Ours went over $3/gallon — for regular — yesterday.

  • CHRRRRRRIIIIIIIISSSSSSSS!!!! You ARE back!!! Geez, its been a while. Is your toe ok? laborous day indeed. Its ok, just like, stop talking to me for a year, whatev. I’m sure you’ve been busy. so you’re really enjoying the railroad business? thats good. I remember the bus days, and that was not exactly enjoyable. well, I guess it might have been some of the time. my memory is shady and its your life afterall….Anyway, glad to see you are well and glad you didn’t cut anything more than your toe!
